About

This is the log for my poster presentation ”Restricted availability of digital platforms and the creation of analog solutions; A case study of the use of a digital school platform in Uppsala Municipality, Sweden”. Here I will post explanations of the research presented in the poster.

You might have reached this site through my Swedish webpage "Arkivfeber", or through the QR-code attached to my poster at the ICA 2023 Congress in Abu Dhabi.

One of the inputs I use, you could call it a theoretical background, are ideas regarding information culture and information sharing. In this theoretical area, described among other by Gillian Oliver and Fiorella Foscarini in the book "Records Management and Information Culture - Tackling the people problem", my focus is on Informaton sharing. Not the psychological och social motive - which have been discussed in the past, but more towards the hindrance created by 1. Technique and infrastructure, 2. Law and infrastructure.

The "contact book" (Kontaktboken)

This is an example of how a contact book can be designed. In this case they have used a photo of the child (blurred here) in order to make it less likable that the wrong book reaches the wrong parents.

Messages in the "contact book" (kontaktboken)

This is an example of a typical message from school to parents. The headline tells us the date and the context (message from school). The message is blurred here but could contain such information as health status, requests ("send more diapers") or instructions as when to bring certain type of clothing et cetera.

In the latest issue of the magazine "Arkiv" released by the different Swedish archives and archivists associations, there is a short article about the contact-book-project written by me. It is in Swedish and the title is "De administrativa undantagen" ("The administrative exceptions"). You can reach a copy of the article here.

Now, there is a less than a week until the conference starts. After the conference is over I will upload a copy of the poster here together with relevant links.
